Multimedia Canvas

It all started when I opened a Pier 1 catalog. They were showcasing some of their spring products, and I saw the plates that looked like flowers.

sold.

I went there, picked a few up. It was perfect because they "matched" my orange kitchen theme. (yah, I know, not everyone has a theme for their kitchen). Whatever! I love my kitchen!

For years now, I have had this open space by the sink and wanted to fill it in, but never found the "right thing". So, after I was at Pier 1, I was inspired to create my own.

Now, I'm not a very good painter, but I can fake it a bit if I do abstract-mutlimedia-type art on canvas! Turns out, I really enjoy this kind of painting. The orange flowers are oil, so they will need A LONG time to dry. But, whatever. This is one of those paintings I like to stare at. The colors melt into eachother and it looks so rich! Plus I added glass stones, and beads, and metallic elements. It's fun!
