PPA318

ppa-318-sep15This is the first card I made using this sketch, but I am already planning on stamping a stash of cards inspired by this same sketch.

Step 1: card sketch (PPA challenge)
Step 2: stamp set (Stampin Up's Wetlands)
Step 3: color family (Valerie's Autumn Skies)

I started with creating a square that would hold my goose stamp, and created my frames just 1/8" larger.
Using more than one color when framing an image draws more attention to it and helps it stand out!

TIP: Use your water brush to add color into your stamped image.
I like using the water brush to tie in the colors I used in the paper. This brings unity to my creations.
Make sure you use watercolor paper when coloring with the water brush. If you use normal cardstock, the water will pucker and distort the paper. Also, make sure your stamp is first done with a solvent ink (I used StazOn). This way your image won't bleed when you are watercoloring over it.

I invite you to play along in these challenges. They are fun! Click here for more information.

Were you wondering what my color story "Autumn Skies" is all about? I put together a dozen different palettes, featuring colors from Stampin Up. I sat down and took time to figure out which colors I liked best together. This card is using colors from a collection I called "Autumn Skies". It is actually inspired from one of my cousins weddings. I made the flower bouquets and arrangements for her, and really liked how they looked together.
I love turning to my color charts and selecting one of my color stories when I am making cards.
