Penned and Painted

A Confession of a Flower-Lover:
I love flowers.
Not only the real things, but also when they are drawn, painted, created, whatever!
This set from Stampin Up, called Penned and Painted, is perfect for my fellow Flower Lovers!

I used some of the stamps to create a wreath.

Then to step it up, I added punched flowers from the Petite Petals set (and Rhinestones)

But I didn't stop there!
I made another card with the Penned and Painted Stamp Set, and liked it soooo much that I made more (but in different colors!)

They all started out the same.

1. Cut a 8 1/2  x 11 cardstock in half ("hamburger" style, as my kids say)
TIP: Use the Thick Whisper White cardstock - the heavy weight is wonderful. It feels more professional.

2. stamp the sketched images from Penned and Painted in black
TIP: Use StazOn or some other solvent-based ink. (it doesn't bleed in when your watercoloring)

3. Color in the flowers and petals with the watercolor pencils from Stampin Up

4. Wash over the colors with your waterbrush.
TIP: If you find yourself using a lot of water, make a card front out of watercolor paper (it's much thicker and your cardstock won't ripple).
