PPA314

ppa314 The PPA is such a great way to keep your creativity flowing! Every week is a new "challenge". Sometimes it's a sketch (like the one this week) and sometimes it's a color scheme (or as I sometimes call it, a "color story").  Cards don't have to follow the sketch exactly. It's meant to serve as an inspiration. Yesterday, I wanted to make more Christmas-themed cards, so I used this sketch as a starting point. I had these die cuts from long ago, and still think they are so so so pretty :)

TIP: get the most from your paper by using the "negative image" from your dies.

I have had customers ask me, which is better, a big shot die or a punch? This question applies to this card, because you can get a circle punch OR use the circle dies. Both are provided by Stampin Up. I tell them, the initial cost for the dies are most expensive, because it requires the Big Shot (which, by the way, I use all the time). But the dies also provide so much versatility. The punches are faster to use, but you have only 1 shape, 1 size, 1 option. Usually, once you have the Big Shot in your crafting stash, the dies are cheaper, considering the work they can do for you.

Here are the supplies I used, and some substitutions in place of product Stampin Up provides.

  2. Beautiful work - way to showcase that a card doesn't need to be stamped to be beautiful! Thanks for playing along with PPA this week.
