Christmas Ornament Card

One of the wonderful things about Christmas decorating is ... the tree! It's just like when I do wedding flowers, I love how every one is different, everyone has their own style. The same thing comes through with Christmas trees. My tree doesn't have any fancy ornaments, but my mom and dad's have some great heirlooms that I can't help but stare at. every year. So, here is one of the cards I made with the Embellished Ornament Stamps from Stampin Up. This set is so versatile! In this card, I used it in harmony with the embossing folder from the new holiday catalog (which will officially come out next month).

TIP: to make the impressioned image of the embossing folder stand out more, I rubbed some silver powder over it, along with brushing all the boughs with the wink of stella (which adds some wonderful sparkle, but I don't think that's obvious based on the picture).

Originally I just had the pear pizzazz paper as the card front. But, after seeing it with my nice red ornament, I thought I needed to add an accent of red somewhere, just to tie it all in and make the ornament looked like it belonged.

TIP: Having the Big Shot really makes this card special. If you just stamped it on the same paper as the embossed imaged, it would still be nice, but the cutting out images with the Big Shot really makes them stand out!
